Dear colleagues, my name is Jeanne Duus Johansen and I am president of European Society of Contact Dermatitis and I’m also a professor at the Skin and Allergy department at Gentofte Hospital in Denmark.
I would like to encourage you to participate in the next Skin and Allergy meeting, 24th to 25th March 2023. It’s a digital meeting which is co-organised by EAACI and ESCD, and it will cover multiple aspects of how to manage patients with allergic skin diseases such as contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, drug reactions, et cetera.
There will also be a session on hot topics and presentations will be given by leading experts in how to diagnose these diseases, type I, and type IV, also how to treat with old and the new treatments, and treatment guidelines and prevention.
This will be a fantastic event, so please join us at the next Sam meeting 24th to 25th of March 2023.

16th ESCD Congress

We are delighted to invite you to our 16th Congress of the European Society of Contact Dermatitis (ESCD) in Dresden, 4–7 September 2024.
We have just started the preparations for the scientific programme, which will include the most recent basic and clinical research findings in genetics and pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of contact dermatitis and other inflammatory diseases, presented by experts from all over the world. Other topics from the fields of occupational medicine, health education and health care research will complement the interdisciplinary programme.
You will have plenty of opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences with colleagues and experts in the area. In addition, an attractive social programme will provide enough space for meeting again and personal conversations.
The congress will take place at “DGUV Congress”, the new, modern congress center of the German Statutory Accident Insurance, located in the North of Dresden next to “Dresdner Heide”, a beautiful woodland. The congress campus is easily accessible by public transport from Dresden City Center and from the nearby Dresden International Airport.

WCD2023: 25th World Congress of Dermatology

ICD-11 webinar for dermatology (ILDS and WHO)

The ILDS has been working in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop, field test, and amend the dermatological content of both the ICD-11 MMS and the ICDD to ensure they meet the needs of health care professionals around the world in recording accurately the skin diseases of their patients.
In celebration of ICD-11 becoming the legally mandated global health data standard on 1 January 2022, the ILDS and the WHO would like to invite interested parties to join a webinar about ICD-11 on 25 January 2022 at 14:00 CET.
The webinar will be hosted by WHO. Dr. Robert Jakob, Team Leader for Classifications and Terminologies (ICD, ICF, ICHI) at the World Health Organization will give an introduction to ICD-11. Dr Robert Chalmers, Immediate Past Co-Chair of the WHO ICD-11 Dermatology Topic Advisory Group and Dermatology Representative of the WHO ICD Medical and Scientific Advisory will then talk in more detail about the ICD-11 Classification of Skin Diseases, with which he has been involved since the start of the ICD Revision Project in 2009. In the Q&A session which follows, we will be joined by Professor Jonathan White, who has taken over as Dermatology Representative of the WHO ICD Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee and external advisor on disease classification for the ILDS.

Awards/Prizes for 2022
The Jan Wahlberg prize is €1,000 and judged by a panel of experts appointed by the Executive Committee. The prize is presented to a young researcher, under 45 years old, who provides work that has been published, or submitted for publication in the field of contact dermatitis. Applications including an introductory letter, all relevant papers and a CV should be made via e-mail to secretary@escd.org. The closing date for applications will be determined by the ESCD. The winner is expected to give a 30min keynote presentation of their work during the Congress.
There are six travel grants available at €500 each for those who have had an abstract accepted to the Congress. If you plan to apply for one of these awards, then please wait until your abstract has been accepted and then forward this confirmation to secretary@escd.org including the abstract and a short CV. The closing date for the applications is 15 March 2020. All applications will be judged by the Executive Committee. All applicants will be informed of the decision before the Congress begins. The grants will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony on the last day of the Congress.
There will be 4 poster prizes awarded at €500 each. Judging will be performed by a panel of judges appointed by the Scientific Committee in the following four areas: Epidemiology/clinical; Occupational; Treatment/prevention/education; Immunology/chemistry/genetics. It is expected that presenters should be available for questions.
